Our Campus
Located at 8787 Greenville Avenue in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas, the Episcopal Church of the Ascension is nestled within a welcoming hilltop property. Our campus includes worship and education space, the Ascension Day School, a community garden, and a multi-purpose facility for youth, group meetings, and our food pantry.
The property features an open courtyard area surrounded by classrooms for our day school, a welcoming space where you can often hear children laughing and playing during the week and before Sunday services. The courtyard features our Memorial Garden, a serene and contemplative space dedicated to those who have passed away.
Our worship space features a unique in-the-round setup, with pews on three sides of the chancel. The predella features a large granite altar in the center, flanked by two smaller granite tables that hold additional items for the Eucharist. The predella is ringed by the communion rail, where parishioners receive the Body and Blood of Christ.
Behind the altar is a magnificent Pasi pipe organ, custom-built for the space in 2005, one of only 29 built by venerable organ builder Martin Pasi. The choir and a grand piano are situated next to the organ, all in a prominent location that underscores the central role of music in our worship.
Our parish hall is a flexible space that can accommodate more than 200 people in auditorium seating, or 160 seated at round tables. The area includes a hidden stage that can be set up for theater performances and other events. The hall features the Elaine Kadane Memorial Kitchen, a commercial kitchen available to our parishioners and under contract with a local catering company.
