Radical Hospitality

“Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.”

  • Hebrews 13:2

At Ascension, everyone is welcome—whether you’re visiting for the first time or have been here for years. Our Radical Hospitality committee ensures that newcomers and long-time parishioners alike feel connected, cared for, and often well-fed.

We host gatherings large and small, from parish-wide celebrations to intimate dinners that build lasting friendships. Favorite traditions include the All-Parish Picnic, Shrove Tuesday supper, October chili cookoff, Easter lunch, and our January Progressive Dinner. Newcomer Dinners and Saints & Sinners groups help integrate new faces into parish life.

Every Sunday, coffee and breakfast treats bring people together between services, while weddings, funerals, and other milestones are supported with thoughtful planning and hospitality.

At its heart, Radical Hospitality is about building community—sharing meals, deepening relationships, and making sure everyone has a place at the table.
