Ascension Day School

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward."
Psalm 127:3
Ascension Day School is a play-based preschool program that offers a loving, caring, and safe environment for children ages 12 months through Kindergarten. Housed in Ascension’s courtyard classrooms, ADS is celebrating its 15th year and teaches more than eighty students in nine separate classrooms. School days run from 9 am to 2 pm, Monday through Thursday, with children having the option to attend two, three, or four days a week.
Students learn through play-based lessons with a Christian curriculum woven into the students’ days. The Rector has traditionally led a chapel service once a week for the school, and serves as a resource for the school’s full-time director.
The school features strong leadership led by the ADS director, and a volunteer ADS Board of Directors. This board is chaired by a church member and the board itself is a mix of school parents and parishioners. The Vestry has ultimate oversight for the school, aided by the Rector and the Board.
The church is thankful for this ministry to the wider community and is proud of the work the teachers and staff are doing each day. It is also thankful that, as ADS has grown, it has been able to contribute about $50,000 annually to the church’s operations budget.
