Diocese of Dallas
The diocese consists of more than 60 churches, more than 25,000 Episcopalians, and more than 180 clergy, all within the geographical borders that reach north to Oklahoma, east to Arkansas, south to Corsicana and west to Tarrant County. The Diocese is part of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion.

The diocese is divided into geographic groupings of congregations called Convocations. These districts enable clergy and laity to share common interests and concerns, and gives them more strength and resources as a group rather than a single congregation acting alone.

At the time of this publication, the Diocese is led by Bishop George Sumner, who has led the diocese since November 2015. Bishop Sumner recently announced his retirement as of January 1, 2026. He will be succeeded by Bishop Coadjutor Robert Price, who was consecrated in September 2025. More information can be found at the Diocese of Dallas website.
