Welcome!
The Episcopal Church of the Ascension offers a community that honors the unique gifts God has woven into each of us. Our mission is rooted in Jesus’ message of compassion and respect for all people. We strive to be a place where divides are bridged, relationships are nurtured, and the love of God is made visible in daily living.
As we prayerfully discern our next rector, we seek a spiritual leader who will join us in this mission—guiding, supporting, and inspiring us as together we continue to grow in faith, service, and love.

Our Mission
To restore all people to unity with God and each other.

Our Vision
“Accept one another, then, just as Christ
accepted you, in order to bring praise to God."
” Romans 15:7
We strive to be a radically inclusive community with diverse and vibrant worship, intentionally focused on children and youth, caring for each other, and on being the hands and feet of Christ in all that we do.

Our Core Values
Our Core Values are:
-
Celebrating our unity in Christ while honoring our differences, always putting the work of love before uniformity of opinion.
-
Reaching out to our greater community, inviting all parts of it to celebrate and share in communion with us.
-
Loving our neighbors and upholding the dignity of all peoples by feeding the hungry and caring for the sick.
-
Grounding ourselves in a sacred rhythm of worship, music, fellowship, and service.
-
Affirming that, for Christians, marriage is a lifelong commitment between two adults, regardless of gender. Episcopalians also recognize that there is grace after divorce; therefore, we celebrate remarriages and do not deny the sacraments to those whose marriages have ended.
-
Affirming the ordination of men and women to the Priesthood, regardless of gender or orientation.
-
Respecting the decisions of others, while acknowledging that scripture, tradition, and experience invite us all to our own beautifully individual ways of experiencing God.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Ephesians 4:32
