CHILDREN'S FORMATION
“You teach me the way of life. In your presence is total celebration.
Beautiful things are always in your right hand.” Psalm 16:11 CEB
CHILDREN AT ASCENSION
Beginning with the promises to support the newly baptized in their life with Christ, we see children as valuable members of our community. At Ascension, we strive to partner with families to foster a lifelong faith journey. Through the tools of wonder and play, we celebrate the spiritual lives of our children and encourage them to continue on their journey.

CHILDREN'S FORMATION
9:15 A.M. ON SUNDAYS
Childcare is available for children under 3.
Early Childhood | Pre-K - 2nd Grade or 3-8 Years
Godly Play | Godly Play Room (formerly The Parlor)

Built around sacred stories and wondering, we use the Godly Play and the Following Jesus curriculum to encourage openness, discovery, community, and relationships. Both curricula are rooted in the Montessori educational philosophy. They offer our youngest worshipers a hands-on approach to understanding the Bible and our faith. Following Jesus brings in more New Testament stories, while Godly Play emphasizes the Old Testament.
Weaving God's Promises | Older Childhood: 3rd–6th Grade or 9-12 yrs old
Common Area outside the Priest’s Office

The 3rd through 6th-grade class uses Weaving God’s Promises, a curriculum that helps kids explore the Bible and God’s Promises. The curriculum incorporates discussion, games, hands-on activities, and crafts to make Bible study fun and interactive. The 3rd through 6th grade also completes service projects such as helping the Youth prepare Blessing Bags for the homeless.

CHILDREN'S CHAPEL
10:30 AM ON SUNDAYS

Children’s Chapel is a worship opportunity for children that allows them to move, explore, and wonder through the liturgy. Each week a crucifer leads children from the Nave to the Children’s Chapel (The Paula Tucker Chapel) during the first hymn of the 10:15 am service.
Offered at a child-friendly pace, the Children's Chapel allows children to participate in worship actively. We read and discuss the Gospel reading for that day and, through song and movement, learn about the liturgy and connections to God's Word. All children ages 3 and up are welcome in Children's Chapel.

All children ages 3 and up are welcome in Children’s Chapel. If you'd like to contribute to Children's Chapel, here's our WISH LIST!

SERVING IN WORSHIP
10:30 AM ON SUNDAYS

Starting in the 4th grade, children are encouraged to lead through service in our worship services. Children can serve as acolytes, readers, and greeters. For more information on participating in these roles, contact Fr. Oliver.
