CHILDREN'S FORMATION
“You teach me the way of life. In your presence is total celebration.
Beautiful things are always in your right hand.” Psalm 16:11 CEB
CHILDREN AT ASCENSION
Beginning with the promises to support the newly baptized in their life with Christ, we see children as valuable members of our community. At Ascension, we strive to partner with families to foster a lifelong faith journey. Through the tools of wonder and play, we celebrate the spiritual lives of our children and encourage them to continue on their journey.

WEEKLY FORMATION
9:00 AM ON SUNDAYS
GODLY PLAY
Early Childhood (Pre-K—4th Grade)
Children’s Chapel Room 105
Sacred stories told around a circle begin each offering of Godly Play. After the story, the work begins. Painting, reenacting the story, quiet time…the ways to respond to the story are led by the creativity of each participant. This allows a hands-on, empowering approach to understanding the Bible and our faith in community. In the sacred story circle, everyone is invited to wonder and grow.

CHILDREN'S CHAPEL
10:15 AM ON SUNDAYS
Children’s Chapel is a worship opportunity for children that allows them to move, explore, and wonder through the liturgy. Each week a crucifer leads children from the Nave to the Children’s Chapel (Room 105) during the first hymn of the 10:15 am service. Offered at a child-friendly pace, the Children’s Chapel liturgy includes the acclamation, collect, Gospel reading, creed, and prayers of the people. All children ages 3 and up are welcome in Children’s Chapel.
SERVING IN WORSHIP
10:15 AM ON SUNDAYS
Starting in 3rd grade, children are encouraged to lead through service in our worship services. Children can serve as acolytes, readers, and greeters. For more information on participating in these roles, contact Jordan.

SEASONAL BLUE BAGS
Tools for Engaged Worship
Sometimes simple tools like crayons and chenilles can enable listening and shift focus. Each season, we provide each child a blue bag for use in worship

SEASONAL CHILDREN’S PROGRAMMING
Throughout the year, we have multiple other children’s programs including our annual Bible Camp. To stay up to date with our offerings, subscribe to our e-newsletter here.
Bible Camp
A summer program that explores a Bible story each day, Bible Camp is open to everyone ages 3-11. While the stories and focus change each year, children will learn Bible stories and Episcopal hymns, participate in service projects and crafts, and worship together in chapel. Each day ends with lunch. Bible Camp is typically offered in early June.
