CHILDREN | 9:15 A.M. ON SUNDAYS

Childcare is available for children under 3.

Early Childhood | Pre-K - 2nd Grade or 3-8 Years
Godly Play | Godly Play Room (formerly The Parlor)

Built around sacred stories and wondering, we use the Godly Play and the Following Jesus curriculum to encourage openness, discovery, community, and relationships. Both of these curricula are rooted in a Montessori educational philosophy. They offer our youngest worshipers a hands-on approach to understanding the Bible and our faith. Following Jesus brings in more New Testament stories, while Godly Play emphasizes the Old Testament.

Weaving God's Promises | Older Childhood: 3rd–6th Grade or 9-12 yrs old | Common Area outside the Priest’s Office

The 3rd through 6th-grade class uses Weaving God’s Promises, a curriculum that helps kids explore the Bible and God’s Promises. The curriculum incorporates discussion, games, hands-on activities, and crafts to make Bible study fun and interactive. The 3rd through 6th grade also completes service projects such as helping the Youth prepare Blessing Bags for the homeless.

YOUTH

Youth Group | 6th - 12th Grades
September dates: Sunday, September 14th at Noon and Sunday, September 21st at 5:00 p.m.

Bible Project and Jesus Calling | Youth and Outreach Center | Room 202

Ascension’s youth group is an active and vibrant part of our community. Meeting on Sundays at either noon or 6:00 p.m., our youth explore the Bible and participate in real-world lessons through Project Bible and Jesus Calling.

Our Youth group is outwardly focused, and in addition to our Bible Study, each meeting has a service element in which our youth work as a team to support others. Some of our ministries have included making Blessing Bags for the homeless, sanding and finishing figures for the youngest classroom of Godly Play, setting up classrooms, building furniture, and running holiday events for the younger parishioners. We also have special outings centered around fun activities such as bowling and ropes courses. A majority of our youth volunteer to serve each month during the services, and many volunteer to help out in Children’s Chapel. All these experiences help our young people grow in faith and develop a deeper understanding of their role in the Church and the world. Please reach out to Alice @ Alice.Frederick@ascensiondallas.org for more information.

Men's Group Book Study
When Everything's on Fire

Sundays this Fall beginning 9/07
9:15 a.m. | Youth & Outreach Center

Men ages 18 and up are invited to join our Men's Group this fall as they read and discuss Brian Zahnd's When Everything's on Fire: Faith Forged from the Ashes. The book advocates for a renovation of faith rather than a demolition of it. It encourages us to hope rather than despair in a volatile world that can often seem at odds with the principles of Christianity.

Interested men can join on Sundays at 9:15 a.m. in the Youth & Outreach Center.
