Parish Administrator - Full Time

Episcopal Church of the Ascension (“Ascension”) seeks a caring and faithful disciple of Jesus Christ to serve as full-time Parish Administrator (the “PA”). The PA serves as the point person for the administrative needs of the parish and Ascension Day School (“ADS”). This position reports to the Rector.

Responsibilities and Duties
 

Administrative
- Serves as hub of hospitality for midweek visitors and a point of connection to other
staff and ministry leaders.
- Manages church database, membership rolls, and processes.
ï‚·- Maintains the church calendar, providing staff updates on facility requests and other pertinent information.
ï‚·- Serves as a point of contact for volunteers, handing off routine small projects for their help.
- Serves as personnel manager, including onboarding and orientation of employees and contractors (personnel files, insurance coverage, time off management, safe church compliance)
- Manages building access for members and guests, including keys and fobs
- Manage contracts related to the physical plant and property, including:
     o HVAC, grounds management
     o Cleaning/maintenance of all property, plant, and equipment
     o Maintain an inventory of assets
     o With the vestry, arrange for appropriate insurance


Communication
ï‚· - Produces service bulletins
ï‚· - Assists in the printing and mailing of monthly calendar (At a Glance)
ï‚· - Assists in the creation and dissemination of periodic email communications to members


Stewardship/Financial
ï‚·- Assists in printing and mailing stewardship packets to members
ï‚·- Supports the stewardship campaign by receiving and entering annual pledges, sending periodic giving statements, and the like.
- Prepares and provides needed communications to the Bishop’s office, including
payroll audit reports, parochial report, etc.

- Assists the bookkeeper with regular bookkeeping practices, including audit readiness


Rector Support
- Shares in management of the Rector’s calendar
ï‚·- Works with families seeking baptism, marriage, and burial with the church’s customs and planning
- Provides logistical follow-up, as needed, on behalf of the Rector’s office.
ï‚·- Other duties as assigned by the Rector


Work and Leave Times
-This is a full-time position, consisting of 32 hours per week.

-The regular hours of this position are Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm.
-In rare situations, the PA may be asked to work other days or finish a project outside of regular hours.

Compensation and Benefits
-The annual compensation is $50,000 (reviewed annually). Payroll is on the 15th and 30th of each month.
- Health, vision, and dental insurance for the employee only are included with this position.
- Ascension will pay into the Church Pension Fund the amount required for a full-time lay employee per CPG policies (IV.B.4)

- Workers' Compensation insurance is included in accordance with Ascension’s policy and state law.
- Two weeks of paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays are included, all in accordance with Ascension’s policies and procedures.


Essential Skills and Qualities
ï‚· Quickbooks
ï‚· Google Docs and MS Office 365
ï‚· FellowshipOne, Realm, or other church database software
ï‚· Experience with website management (WIX) is helpful


Non-Negotiable
ï‚·- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
ï‚·- Willingness to communicate with others when questions arise.
- Have a “happy to help” attitude and desire to serve the staff and the people of Ascension.
