Summer is almost here and Ascension has a wonderful season of fun opportunities for our children and youth!  Please know that while our weekly programming takes a break, there are still wonderful ways to experience Christian formation.

First, please consider sending your child to our AWESOME Camp All Saints in Pottsboro, TX! Registration is open for children entering 3-12 grade, and spots are limited. Many of our kids from Ascension have attended and can tell you what an incredible week of faith and friendship it is for everyone involved.  Fr. Paul will be the dean for the second week of camp, June 23-29th, and we would love to have a big crew of Ascension kids there! Scholarships are available, and Sarah Klitzke can give you tons more info about camp if you have questions.  She serves as the nurse there during the summer and can assure you that your child will be well cared-for and grow in incredible ways after a week of living in intentional Christian community. https://campallsaints.com/

Grades 3-8:  Session II: June 23-29th

Grades 9-12: Session IV: July 7-13

June 10-15th will be our high school pilgrimage.  While we have a small group of pilgrims this year, it will be nothing less than stellar.  The group will travel to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where they will explore Episcopal faith and identity through the lens of nature and art.  In addition to visiting sacred sites and a pilgrim-worthy hike to ancient Chimayo, they will spend time exploring and reflecting on how spirituality and faith are portrayed in culture around them.

Shrek! is this year’s Ascension Summer Musical!  From June 17-21st, the talented Unkenholz family once again brings us an opportunity for the kids of Ascension (and the Dallas community) to come together and spend a week singing, dancing, acting, and playing!  It has been a highlight every summer and your kids will not want to miss out! With musical theater camp Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm, and a performance of their work on Friday evening, you will be astounded at the talent and hard work of this group!

Our youth annual mission trip this year is July 21-26th, and we will be heading out to the Heifer International Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas.  Ascension will pair with St. Michael and All Angels youth to learn and experience what Heifer International does throughout the world to battle hunger and poverty. They will experience the Global Village, a simulation of what it is like to live in a Heifer-sponsored village, and they will be introduced to the culture, food, and work in those places.

Ascension Day School has wonderful summer camps scheduled for children ages 2-6 and an art camp for children over 7.  These promise to be fantastic weeks full of learning and fun! ADS brings in awesome teachers and community leaders to offer the very best in their summer programming!   https://www.ascensiondallas.org/current-families
