Episcopal Church of the Ascension welcomes you...
We are a diverse community of faith that gathers to worship God. Our worship includes reading and reflecting on scripture, singing hymns and celebrating the sacraments of the church. We endeavor to learn together, about faith, about God and about one another. We serve together in a variety of ministries that include school partnerships, feeding ministries, advocacy and much more. We hope that you'll join us as we seek to restore unity with God and one another.
Upcoming events at Episcopal Church of the Ascension:
December 8-10: diocese of dallas disaster response
If you are interested in joining the Diocese of Dallas' work crews in Houston and the Gulf Coast area, contact Colin Hills at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or click on the link below.
December 13: Blue Christmas service
When one has lost a loved one, a job, a home, is estranged from family, or is facing any kind of sorrow, it is very difficult to rejoice with others during what is supposed to be a happy holiday time. This service will be a time of quiet reflection, words of encouragement, hope and music for anyone needing comfort during the holidays. Please join us and bring a friend. You are welcome to bring a photo, memento or other object to share on our Table of Remembrance.
For more information, please contact: The Rev. Dr. Marci Pounders
December 17: Live nativity
This annual event helps bring the story of the nativity to life. A narrator recalls the story of the nativity as others act out the events around Jesus birth.
December 24: The fourth Sunday of Advent & Christmas Eve
The morning of Sunday December 24th we celebrate the 4th Sunday of Advent, the completion of this season of preparation and anticipation. At Ascension we will have one morning service at 10:15, celebrating the 4th Sunday of Advent. We will regather in the evening to celebrate the arrival of Christmas. The evening will begin with a family service at 5pm, a traditional service at 9pm and a Dinka service beginning at midnight.
