“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:14 -16
LET YOUR LIGHT CAMPAIGN UPDATE
Dear Ascension friends, it is because of your generosity that the Youth and Outreach Center transformation, courtyard classroom improvements, small playground equipment replacement, and new garden shed are possible. For this, we are so very thankful. The cost of the work to date is in line with the number of funds pledged to date. We have a small balance of the pledged funds to use in the projects planned in the main building and need additional funding in excess of current pledges to complete several projects contemplated in the campaign.
The June 2019 storm had a huge impact on the campus, and we have been blessed with a significant insurance settlement. We seek to turn this trial into triumph by using this blessing to continue the work of the capital campaign.
These projects will be impactful to our main building, where we all gather and worship. Projects to be undertaken include:
● New, improved LED lighting in the Nave, Narthex and Parish Hall
● Sheetrock repair and paint in the Nave and Narthex
● New, improved sound system in the Nave with broadcasting in the Narthex
● New Welcome Center in the Narthex
● New flooring in the Parish Hall.
New financial commitments to the campaign will help this work continue without a permanent bank loan. Pending receipt of all pledged funding, we entered into a short-term loan with Amegy Bank to ensure cash flow so that projects are not delayed or costs increased. We currently have borrowed $67,000 for the short-term loan, and as pledged funds are received we will pay ongoing construction costs and pay down the loan as we are able. To date we have
received pledged commitments for $755,746, of which $578,493 has been received. As we look to complete the projects outlined above we seek additional pledges of $180,000 to avoid a long-term financing situation.
We as you to prayerfully consider pledging to this ongoing Campaign. If you have any questions about the campaign, construction contemplated or ministries envisioned within the new space, we are excited to speak with you. We have seen the substantial benefits of the renovated classrooms, we know the Youth and Outreach Center will expand the capacity and reach of these ministries, and we expect the remaining work will enhance our welcome and experience in worship.
With blessings and gratitude,
The Rev. Paul Klitzke, Rector
