Youth Sunday School
September 9, 2012 through May 19, 2013

9:00-10:00am

Ascension's Youth Sunday school program is divided into three groups, each designed to develop youth into disciples of Christ.

Rite-13 (6th and 7th grade): Rite-13 is the name for the first two years of the youth Journey to Adulthood program. The Rite-13 class will learn about God and themselves through Bible Study and discussion with a specific focus on building relationships and creating a foundation of the fundamentals of faith. Meets in the large room of the youth house in the upper building.

Journey to Adulthood-J2A (8th and 9th grade): The Journey to Adulthood (J2A) group builds on what they learned in the Rite 13 class and focuses on training young people in the skills of adulthood and to establish our experience in the strength of community and liturgy. The program is designed to include a Pilgrimage which happens at the end of the second year to explore the mystery of our faith heritage. Meets in small room of the youth house in the upper building.

Young Adults in the Church-YAC (10th - 12th grades): The goals of this class are to encourage the high school students to exercise responsibility and leadership in the life of the congregation and in their own learning about what they believe. Meets in Room 107 in the courtyard. On the second Sunday of the month the class has SSS - Second Sundays at Starbucks. They meet around the corner from Ascension, on Abrams north of Royal at 9:00am.
