Adult Sunday School at Ascension

There are four different Adult Sunday School classes at Ascension, each with a different feel and focus. All classes welcome visitors are open to new members, so feel free to come to one. Or go to several, and find the one that fits you best.

All adult Sunday School classes meet from 9:00-9:50 am.

"Come and See" Newcomers' Class

A three session class for those who are new to Ascension. Connect with the Rector, Mother Kai, and parish leaders; learn about the identity and history of the parish, about ways to grow your faith in Jesus Christ and about Ascension's ministries; get your questions answered. September 11, 18, and 25 only. Meets in the Office Conference Room.

Encountering the Bible

The Encountering the Bible class welcomes all adults in the parish interested in learning more about their faith through the study of the Bible. Deacon Sue leads this class which meets in the Upper Building.

Parents' Sunday School Class

This class meets in the Parish Hall and generally discusses the same series of stories/readings the kids are exploring. Of course, this is a much more adult discussion, centered around around how parents can support and encourage the principles of each week’s stories in their children.

Men’s Bible Fellowship

The Men’s Bible Fellowship is open to all men in the parish. Through the reading of contemporary Christian books and open, honest conversation, the Men’s Bible Fellowship seeks to grow as followers of Jesus. Igbo Bible Study

The Igbo Sunday school class exists to serve the parishioners especially the Igbo speaking parishioners who enjoy studying the word of God in Igbo language using the Igbo translation of the Bible (Bible-Nso) and the Book of Common Prayer (Ekpere na Abu). The group meets to learn more about the Scripture and the Christian faith and for spiritual growth and transformation of life in order to be able to guide all lives, especially those of younger generation. to Christ.
