The Rev.
Sue Ross, Deacon
Sue Ross has been a member of Episcopal Church
of the Ascension since 1987. She received her Licentiate in Ministry
from The Anglican School of Theology and was ordained to the diaconate
in June of 2000. She worked for many years as an Information Technology
project manager. In 2003 she accepted a position on the bishop's
staff as Executive Director of Cathedral Gardens, a non-profit independent
living complex for seniors located across from the Diocesan Office.
She and her husband Lanny are native Dallasites and are blessed
with 5 grown children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren

Mark
Unkenholz, Organist Choirmaster
Mark was raised on the prairies of the Dakotas.
He received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of North Dakota.
Trained as an organist and choral conductor, he also earned his teaching
certificate while serving as a church musician and teaching elementary
and secondary choral music. He attended Southern Methodist University
as a Merit Scholar. After receiving his Master of Sacred Music degree
from the Perkins School of Theology at SMU, he served as a church musician
at Highland Park United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church
in Plano and the Presbyterian Church at Hackberry Creek. Thereafter,
he returned to the classroom to teach German and Choral Music at the
high school level. In 2000, he became the assistant Choirmaster at
the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, and in July of 2008, he assumed
the responsibilities of Choirmaster for Ascension. Mark is married
to Karla J. Unkenholz, Head of the Theatre Department at Berkner High
School, and together they are the parents of two grown sons, Matthew
and Patrick. |

Stephanie Van Kirk,
Youth and Children's Minister
Stephanie is a recent graduate with a Masters of Divinity (M. Div.)
from Princeton Theological Seminary. She has significant experience
in youth ministry and in a wide range of other Christian ministry.
The interview committee noted the depth of her faith, her significant
and applicable educational background, and her energy and passion for
faith formation in youth and children. |
