History
On Sunday, April 28th, 1957 a group of visionary Episcopalians met for the first time at the Crane-Longley Funeral Home on Northwest Highway at Abrams Road with twenty three adults and seven children present. Those at this first service met as members of the Church of the Incarnation in the interest of establishing a new church in North Dallas. Bishop Mason gave his permission for this group to become a mission, and services continued under the leadership of supply priests, including The Reverend Donald G. Smith. In 1958 the mission moved to the Agnes Baldwin School on Walnut Hill Lane at Hillcrest. In early 1959 the vestry purchased property at the southwest corner of North Central Expressway and Meadow Road. The house on the property was converted into a church and the outbuildings into classrooms. On August 31st, the first vicar, the Rev'd Claud W. Behn, Jr. was appointed by the bishop.

On January 15th, 1962, the Rev'd Clifford C. Covington was called to the mission. In a short time the mission began to revive, and relocation to larger premises became a concern. Acreage around the mission had been sold to apartment developers who needed the mission land for easy access to the expressway. On November 22nd, 1963, the Caruth estate offered to sell 3.67 acres on the east side of North Central Expressway, just north of Meadow Road for $120000. During September 1964 the apartment developers paid $153000 for the mission's 2.44 acres. The profit paid for a three phase building plan at 10444 North Central Expressway, and services began on Easter Sunday 1965.
