Spiritual Practice Sessions: The Holiness Tradition

Wednesday evening spiritual formation group meeting during Lent

On Wednesday evenings during Lent, Mother Kai and Father Andrew will lead a session on spiritual disciplines rooted in the Holiness Tradition. The focus will be on learning the disciplines by doing them, rather than by talking about them. The Holiness Tradition was a movement that arose in the 18th century, emphasizing the need for Christians to overcome sinful habits, such as harsh or gossipy speech, covetousness, and submission to temptation and appetites.

Listening For God

2012 Ascension Women's Retreat

The theme for the 2012 Women's Retreat is "Listening for God," and will be led by The Rev. Mary Lessman, Associate Vicar at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in McKinney (the women of St. Andrew's will be joining us). The retreat will take place at Springhill Retreat Center in Richardson on March 23-24. Great meals will be cooked by Ascension and St. Andrew’s parishioner-chefs, and there will be time to relax and get to know each other and enjoy the outdoors at the retreat center.
