Greetings!
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Welcome to the Episcopal Church of the Ascension on the web! Wherever you are in your life with God, whether a hesitant searcher or a long-time churchgoer, we invite you to think of Ascension as your spiritual home.
Founded in 1958, the Episcopal Church of the Ascension is a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, and therefore, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. We worship according to the Book of Common Prayer. We are a Eucharistically centered body (meaning that our primary service of worship is the Holy Eucharist or the Lord's Supper - Communion). We study God's word, the Holy Scripture, and we preach Christ and him crucified.
The Eucharist is celebrated on Saturday at 6:00pm, Sunday mornings at 8:00am and 10:15am. Additionally, on Wednesday at 6:00pm, we offer a healing service with Holy Eucharist. After each Sunday service there is a coffee time in the parish hall, located across the narthex from the nave. During the school year, we have Sunday School for children and adults between the two Sunday worship services, from 9:00 - 10:00am.
So, if you live in the area or are visiting, please come join us!; To help us get to know you, please introduce yourself to the Rector or an usher after the service.
Please feel free to explore our web site, describing our various ministries. We hope to have the opportunity to greet you in person.
- The Rev'd Kathryn McCrossen Ryan, Rector (Senior Pastor)
