About Us

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Welcome to the Episcopal Church of the Ascension on the web! Wherever you are in your life with God, whether a hesitant searcher or a long-time churchgoer, we invite you to think of Ascension as your spiritual home.

Founded in 1958, the Episcopal Church of the Ascension is a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, and therefore, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. We worship according to the Book of Common Prayer. We are a eucharistically centered body (meaning that our primary service of worship is the Holy Eucharist or the Lord’s Supper – Communion). We study God’s word, the Holy Scripture, and we preach Christ and him crucified.

The Eucharist is celebrated Sunday mornings at 8:00 am and 10:15 am. After each Sunday service there is a coffee time in the parish hall, located across the narthex from the nave. During the school year, we have Sunday School for children and adults between the two Sunday worship services, from 9:00 – 10:00 am. A Dinka language worship service (Morning Prayer on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays, Holy Communion on the 1st Sunday) takes place in the nave (the worship space) each Sunday at noon.

So, if you live in the area or are visiting, please come join us! To help us get to know you, please introduce yourself to the Rector or an usher after the service.
Please feel free to explore our website, describing our various ministries.  We hope to have the opportunity to greet you in person.

  1. My name is Katherine Newman and I am a long time Episcopalian. I have been attending this church off and on for several years. Now I would like my membership moved from St. Mark’s in Arlington to the Church of the Ascension in Dallas. If you have any questions, please call me at 214-234-0057.

Also I am interested in the 50 plus pot luck dinners. Could you provide me with more information?

I would also like to volunteer, particularly in the office or most any other place that is appropriate.

    Thank you for your time.

    1. Katherine, thanks for reaching out! Your information has been forwarded to the office staff, and they will be in touch soon!
